| Step 1 - Importing data into SDRMap |
Create your SDRMap job as you would normally, then go to Tools > Import export > Graphical Interfaces . Choose Read File > SDRMap (or TrimMap) and select the file created in Step 1 Part 2 eg c:\loadme.txt, do not initialize the projection parameters from the file when prompted, say yes to accept the differences. |
You will now have all the data in SDRMap, if your survey is in a non SDC area then you will only have the boundary points. To avoid confusion you could first delete all the points that you will not need, in the example below there are 2 pegs on line along the northern boundary of the parcel I am working on. I will only show one observation along this back boundary so will delete the 2 in the middle. I is VERY IMPORTANT that lines do not overlap eg if I left the two marks in the example below then added a single line from one end to the other we will end up with a real mess in Landonline. (I will elaborate on this later). The main thing to remember is that every line (except new bdy lines) in your SDRMap job must be matched with an observation in the Traverse sheet. In some areas (especially in the Waikato) road parcels have incorrectly been split using irregular lines. These can cause problems as you get an irregular line point on top of a boundary mark and the automatic linking will not work properly. To avoid these problems turn off all layers except the irregular ones, delete them if they look suspect (make sure you delete all the marks). Be very careful not to enter any observations to any marks with a name that starts with an "i".
here is the pruned out version of this simple survey, you don't have to prune the job if you don't want to.
